Mayorine Cottage

Morningstar Estate

This charming West Indian cottage was created out of a 100-year-old chattel house and then expanded by its artist owners. The oldest part is the center, which originally was the Bath Village general store, and was moved to the site in two pieces and then connected to the new section. On the deck, the hammock beckons or you can enjoy a soak in the clawfoot tub overlooking the garden or in the moonlight. Restored by the owners, the house evokes the charm of the old with some modern touches. Situated a private acre down a back road, the house is surrounded by mature sour orange, cashew, banana and papaya trees, and many local plants. Behind the house looms Nevis Peak and great views of the sea. Definitely a one of a kind house—on Nevis, or anywhere.
